It is with deepest regret that I notify all personnel that Retired Station Officer Phil Wigg (Reg No 3888) passed away peacefully on the 1 July surrounded by his family. The family once again thank you for your support.
Phil joined the MFB on 30 September 1985 and served until 4 June 2009 when ill health led to his early retirement.
A funeral service to celebrate Phil’s life will be held at St Martins Uniting Church, corner of Dalgety Road and Gibbs Street, Beaumaris on FRIDAY 5 July at 1400 hours. A private cremation will follow.
Phil’s children have requested a Guard of Honour be formed at the conclusion of the service. Attending members are requested to wear dress uniform (shirt, tie, jacket, peaked cap, trousers and shoes) and medals.
