It is with regret that I advise all personnel that Retired Station Officer Barry CONLIN (Reg No 1849), passed away on Sunday 22nd January 2012 after a lengthy battle with illness.
Barry joined the MFB on 30 March 1962 and retired on 29 February 1988 after serving the Brigade and the community for almost 26 years. Following his initial training period, Barry transferred to Western District where, except for a period spent at the Training College, he served at FS 47D, FS 43D, FS 41D, FS 47A, FS 45A, FS 43A and FS 50C from he retired.
The MFB has a proud tradition of members following in the footsteps of their family and the Conlin family is no exception. Barry’s son, Commander Darren Conlin, has carried on this tradition and is currently stationed in Western District on B Platoon.
