It is with regret that I advise all personnel that Retired Senior Firefighter George PIPER (Reg No 1208) passed away on Saturday 17th March 2012.
George joined the MFB on 2 November 1955 and retired on 25 November 1983 after serving the Brigade and the Community for 28 years. After serving his first year at FS 1, George transferred to FS 3 before moving out to Northern District where he served at FS 5 and FS 6 on “B” Platoon. In the latter years of his career George transferred to the old Communications Centre, at Headquarters, where he served on “B” Platoon until his retirement.
Following his retirement George moved to Tweed Heads where he was residing at the time of his passing.
