It is with regret that I advise all personnel that former Senior Firefighter Ian SUMMERSCALES (Reg No 3007) passed away on Sunday 2nd December after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Ian joined the MFB on 2nd July 1976 and resigned, to pursue an different career, on 4th July 1988. After graduating from the Training College, Ian was stationed at FS 23 on “D” Platoon. Having become a Rescue Operator, Ian transferred to FS 21 when the Rescue was moved from FS 23 to FS 21. Aside from a brief period at FS 22 Ian served the majority of his career at FS 21 before leaving the Brigade.
A private funeral was held at Ballarat today (6/12/12).
