It is with regret that l advise all personnel that Retired Electrical Supervisor Robert (Bob) McNEIL (Reg No 8016) passed away on Sunday 9 February after a lengthy battle with illness.
Bob joined the MFB, as an apprentice electrician, on the 2 January 1946 and retired on 25 July 1986 after 40 years of dedicated service to the Brigade and community.
As the Electrical Supervisor, Bob managed a large electrical team responsible for the manufacture of Direct Brigade Alarm equipment and the maintenance of all electrical equipment used by operational personnel. His team also included the alarm maintenance technicians who were responsible for ensuring fire alarm systems provided a safe environment for building occupants and the community as a whole.
