It is with regret that I advise all personnel that Retired Senior Firefighter Barry PUDDY (Reg No 2021) passed away on Sunday 6th April.
Barry joined the MFB on 19th July 1963 and retired on 30th October 1987 after more than 24 years dedicated service to the MFB and the community.
After his initial training Barry worked in the old Communications Centre for a year before transferring to FS 48. In the years following, he served at FS 1, FS 3, FS 4, and FS 5 with several periods where he returned to the Communications Centre. In the latter years of his career he transferred to the Training College where he worked as an instructor on a number of Recruit Courses.
A funeral service to celebrate Barry’s life will be held on THURSDAY (10th April 2014) commencing at 1400 hours in the McCormack Funerals, Murrindindi Chapel, 21 Johnston Street, Alexandra.
